Leadership

Leadership & Community

Told through specific stories — decisions and responsibilities, not adjectives.

Newton Math Club

2024–present

Leader

Leading the club is less about being the best problem-solver in the room and more about making sure the quietest member also gets to the board. I restructured our sessions so that solving happens in pairs, and the person explaining is usually not the person who found the answer.

When two members disagreed about how to run a competition prep, I did not overrule them. We ran a two-week trial of both plans and let the results decide — it kept the team together and taught me to hold my opinions a little more loosely.

"Zero-Dong Market" volunteering

Volunteer, multiple years

The Zero-Dong Market lets families take what they need at no cost, with dignity. Coming back year after year taught me that showing up consistently matters more than a single grand gesture.

Work with schools for the blind

Student researcher & volunteer

The EduVision AI project grew out of time spent with students who are blind or have low vision. My responsibility there was first to listen and to protect their trust — not to treat them as a demo audience.
